So there I was riding my yz250 out past the shop here in MI when a guy in a camo suit came out of the woods waving at me. You know, the "hey you! stop! I wanna talk" wave. I stopped because I just had to find out what he wanted. Oh yeah, he also had a big gun. Turns out he just wanted me to share the terrain with him and skip out on a portion of the trail I was riding. He said he was trying to get this buck. I said, "no problem, you've got a gun." and then I went back to riding. For the rest of the time I pictured some errant bullet taking me out and no one ever finding me. It really added to the excitement of haulin' butt through the tight maze of trees. Maybe I even helped quarter the buck off and now he is dead. I'm not such a bad guy after all. 8)
Wow Matt,
was this on public or private property?
Must have been a bit un-nerving to say the least.
pvd
I started on a public trail but must of got off track a little. I don't know much about hunting but he also asked if he could just have this spot on the weekends. He never said anything about property so I think it still might be public. It was unnerving at first but as soon as he started talking it was cool. Plus, he never held the gun up.
Some friends and I were told a couple years ago that the trails up there in MI (we usually ride in the Baldwin area) are off limits to bikes for most of the day during deer season (night rides OK) so we just don't go up the second half of November. Really sucked to drive all the way up from Chicago for the weekend and not be able to ride.

The woods in Michigan aren't that safe this time of year. Where our land is, there's usually no one around for miles--no camps, nothing, but now the woods are packed.
Of course, up here in the UP right now, you won't be on a dirtbike. You're either on a 4x4 4-wheeler or a snowmobile.
Heather
So when does ice racing begin in the UP? I'm afraid that Edgar may be getting faster than me on the ice. I was hoping he would taunt me a little so I could get motivated.
Chops, come ride your YAMAHA in my neighborhood and piss off my new neighbors. I've got neighbors who like to play bass and rehearse vietnamese pop music in their freaking house. Maybe a dirtbag on a dirtbike will scare them a bit into shutting the hell up as having a talk with them didn't do a damn thing.
Sorry Matt, I have been too busy to give you crap about ice riding! Don't worry, very little ice on the lakes here, so it's not safe to get out there. Most of them are still open.
Don't worry, the moment we get out there I will be drilling you about it! I can't f'ing wait!!!!
I went dirt riding a couple of weeks ago at a friends track in his backyard and ate sh1t so bad, I ended up with abig ole bruise on my ass the size of a large grapefruit!
Oh, and Kwak, you better take off the panties and come up and ride as well...

yes,yes.......why don't you just turn off their heat and flood their house. Then stud up the tz and we can grind them up on our ice bikes. That is what you were getting at, right?
Edgar,
I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo ready.
