hello all..
questions: i have done 5 week ends this year in mid atlantic and got the 12 th overall...
i have done one track day and level 1 cornerspeed only prior to start racing.
some racers are telling me because i have around 1500 pts CCS will move me to expert...
is this true??
should i request to saty amateur or should i go with what other riders are teklling me??

If I were you I would do what feels best for you. If you don't feel comfortable bumping up to expert call or write ccs and request that you want to stay in AM to get get a better feel at racing before you make the comittmet to advance in class. Other racers have done this before in the past i'm sure they won't argue with you too much about it. ;)
Where do you usually finish?
Are you comfortable out there? Can you hold a line? Do you remain calm and don't get spooked when being passed?
If yes to the 3 above, and aren't finishing at the absolute back of the pack - I'd recommend expert personally. The expert group is a lot cleaner and smoother. A wise youngin' once told me that going expert is good for 2 seconds a lap. I doubted him. He was right.
towards the last 3 races, roebling road and shenandoah i finish most of the races in the top 5 (1 win and many 2 and third places)..i can hold my lane, and are not affraid of people passing me...
so i guess i will wait for the first track day next season to see how i feel...and how my lap time is after the oof season..
