I kinda like this place too. I live within a five minute drive from it. I did a lot of electrical work there too. We did some of the building, the timing and scoring loops in the track, and the credentials bldg. Plus The place I work for now upgraded all the primary(13.2 KV) for the lighting they did out there. That place should be pretty cool at night. I just hope they don't get any surges, or what we call "hits" on the system, because the lights will go out while those guys are doing 150 mph. Those lights take a while to come back on after they go off.
Did I mention, I wish they had the ROC there?
Would like to be there, but unable to race.
The first time I went there it reminded me of the Emerald City, coming around that corner and seeing it in the middle of giant fields of green and blue of the lakes {or borrow pits for parking lots}.
That is a cool track and deluxe facility, first practice I stayed off the concrete, lap 3, I was trusting the grip on the concrete fully.
Melka, your having a great season again.
Good luck to all Florida Racers!
my FIRST race road race was there.. i remember coming in and even having raced dirt bikes WAAAYYY back, i got a pretty big lump in my throat. The concrete was not bad at all, just took a dozen laps to trust it..
Thanks BTW..
Kmf600, yes.. i would concur that the lights going out during a night race would be a bad thing ;D
im looking forward to going there
Is the Dec race a night race?
One more question, Is this race gridded by points or order of entry.
QuoteOne more question, Is this race gridded by points or order of entry.
will be NOT a night race, he was just pointing out about the lights. Penguin School put on by the Wood's on Fri, Sat is practice, Sun are races starting about 9:30am or so..
FL region race gridded by order of entry.. thus pre entry is better.
I know this has been posted before, but I just searched and could not find it. What is Henry's contact info, # and mailing address for pre-entries, no FAX if I remember correctly. Thanks

8 Races=tired guy
You guys are lucky...racing in December??!!
QuoteYou guys are lucky...racing in December??!!
We also race in Feb too. I would trade a December race for a nice winding road in S. Fla. We can't ride one block without hitting a stop light. Plus all roads are straight, no turns, besides 90 degree left and rights at stop signs.
8 races = a tires guy is right but 8 races should also give me the #7 plate as well... 8) I am stoked!! This year has been so awsome!!
Anyone know where I can get a flier for this event? I've seen them for Morosso, but not Homestead. Thanks,
Nate
