Title: WERA Endurance Riders Wanted!
Post by: LoneWolfRacing on November 06, 2005, 02:01:17 PM
Lone Wolf Cycles Endurance Team is looking for 2 serious, financially able and motivated riders to compete in 10 rounds of the 2006 WERA National Endurance Season. The western race at Las Vegas will be possibly be substituted by CCS/FUSA events more local.

The equipment that we will be riding is as follows:

2005 Honda CBR600RR (2)
BRIDGESTONE Tires
Repsol Lubricants
SBS Brake Pads
Vortex rearsets, clipons, sprockets, frame sliders

more sponsors and support coming!

Goals for 2006
To compete for a podium spot at all events.
To be in championship hunt, with consistent finishes and well preparedness.

We wil be competing in Middleweight Superstock
Tune&Testing will begin in late Feb, early March for 3 days at Jennings GP.
Please email resumes/info to Lonewolfcycles@optonline.net

Before you read further, you must be honest about your willingness to put as much effort into this program as you would your own sprint racing program. And yes you can race sprints on Sundays of the WERA Nationals.

Obviously this costs TIME and MONEY, but compared to what you will spend racing half the schedule, you get more seattime for your money racing endurance.

For those new to Endurance racing, here is a fact of life the calculated costs for 10 events Race Entry Fees, Practice Fees, Tires, Fuel for the bikes, Oil Changes, Brake Pads/Fluid and 1 rebuild of "A" bikes suspension adds up to $19,300 total over a season. A rider will pay $6500 to ride at all 10 events.
It is possible to make an agreement to ride as few as 5 events and obviously the costs will be that much less.

Contingency money won at any given event will be split 50% for the team owner
and 25% to each of the other 2 riders.

I look forward to hearing from potential teammates.
To those I end up in serious discussion with, I will send a breakdown of all costs it takes to run the team.
I cannot stress enough that there is a serious financial commitment to endurance racing, but it still is better bang for the buck then doing a load of sprints.

One more thing, if you have a company who is sponsoring your ride, I am willing and able to give them the necessary exposure for their service or product. Anyone who has a pit crew member/scorer, they want to have involved, that is gladly welcomed.

It's never to early to prepare for 2006.

In 2005 we finished 6th overall out of 38 in Middleweight Supersport.

Scott Harwood rode the first few events for us in 2005 and very well I might add!  He continued that success with Yochum Motorsports in the FUSA Team Challenge and a solid showing at AMA VIR FX race.
I would like to think the added seat time on our endurance team helped.  ;D
Also those who race with us in 2006 get a more refined team, that has secured support in the form of bikes, pit crew help and a team owner/rider who now has learned from his mistakes.  :D

Good luck to everybody in 2006.

Whatever you decide to do.

Ninelives, every one of my teammates with the exception of one has been from somewhere other then NY. We will be doing our tune&test March 4-6 at Jennings.
So long as you can make it to the tracks, I don't mind if a team member is from another state.
