Title: Let's play a game
Post by: Jeff on October 26, 2005, 05:22:45 AM
Cue jeopardy music.

Jeff - "I'll take sh1t I never wanted to spend money on for $100 Alex"
Alex - "Whoa! The audio daily double! Whatcha gonna bet Jeffy?"
Jeff - "Let's go for the whole boat Alex!"
Alex - "Okay, listen to this....  "POP" "
Jeff - "What is....  The sound made when you drop your 450 through the big side window on your pimp van?"
Alex - "YOU ARE CORRECT!!!"  - "Tell him what he's won Johnny!"

Johnny in perfect announce voice - "You have just won the ultimate in automotive environment equalization systems!  That's right Jeff, from now on, if it's raining outside, you'll get to experience it INSIDE your van!  Snowing, you bet!  110 degree heat? No problem!"

Thanks Tommy. I'll give them a call today.

The thing that sucks is that I've known it was gonna happen ever since the first time I loaded a bike into the stinking thing.  And when it happened yesterday it was in complete slow motion.  The bike just started going, and for whatever reason it didn't click that it was gonna go through the window, so I basically let it fall without too much argument...  argh.

They`re actually a salvage yard, but I heard they may install glass. That big sucker would be alot if you buy it new. If you run into a dead end with them I have an EX racer buddy that owns an auto glass shop and would cut you a deal. Give me the vehicle info and I can ask him for you.

Good thing Johnny wasn't helping you otherwise you would've bent a rotor too  ;D

I just covered my keyboard with coffee that shot out my nose...

Tommy, the van is a 93 GMC 1 ton Rally van.  It's the passenger side rear window.  I can measure it tonight.  Definitely hoping to find something used...

Jeff, just do it ghetto style and duct tape it closed... It works for the bikes, why not for the van? ;D

I have a custom cardboard & plastic solution in the works..  And yes, duct tape will be involved.

Those are OEM windows right?  Seems like the pimp van isn't a conversion.

Yeah is it OEM or a conversion window? If its a conversion window, more than likely it will be a Hehr brand (Built conversion vehicles for 8 yrs). Slider windows are pretty easy to replace. If you broke the big glass, well its either replace teh whole assembly (which requires some "minor" interior removal) or I think theres a external lock strip that can be yanked to replace the glass.

OEM window, external lock strip.

Tinted, but no slider or anything.

Just called H&H.  Now I have to measure the wheelbase.  If it's 125", they have one for $75.00.  Shweet!

Is it factory tint, if not I can tint it for you.

Jeff always makes sure his windows are tinted to hide all those naughty things he does in his van! ;D

I'm pretty comfortable with my plastic coated cardboard solution that is duct taped in place...

Tommy, are you still jaded that people saw you cuffed and semi-nekkid in the back of my van?  Come on... They don't know you.  It was only once...

Yeah, and no one at the track would have known about it, except for Jeff showing off the pics to everyone at the last Blackhawk...  ;D

I heard that it was the reason Jeff got so much faster at the end of the year: speed by injection!
 ;)
