if you aer talking about an SV I think you will be a couple of MPH down on that long straight. If you aren't talking about an SV...I dunno. I did find this handy spreadsheet for figuring out gearing for your bike. It seems to work with any bike. Its written in Excel.

Wow.  :o
Are the trannys that much dif on a GSXR 600
to a R6 ? Last march I started out with a 17/45
and hit the limiter in 6th in the draft, twice. Bumped
down to a 17/44 and was still pulling 15,7 across
the stripe

108hp is pretty good HP for that year R6, 17/48, 16/45 or some combo will be good. ANY closer to stock will hit the rev limiter too soon near Start/finish and your loosing time.
Lower hp R6 like a near stock bike on pump gas may need closer to stock gearing as it wont pull the +1 (or -3) gearing. Higher hp bikes were using even taller like +1 front,-1 or more rear.
