Just a quick note to introduce myself. My name is Kurt von Ahnen and I used to race with the CCS club on the east coast years ago. I moved to Colorado and got active in the MRA, then some FUSA stuff before I quit racing.
Since then I have been pursuing a writing career in motorsports and freelance for a few magazines as well as run our own free Ezine at www.vonconcepts.com --- I also supply content to www.1tail.com.
My family is looking to move now to Albuquerque, putting me in a position to return to racing again in the CCS club. We're thinking TZ's and maybe even a few USGPRU races?
I look forward to meeting and writing about you.
Kurt
Welcome back to the show Kurt. Hope you have more fun than you can write about. Mark B.
Since you'll be in ABQ, check out:
www.roadracesw.com - the Southwest CCS affiliate
www.ASMARacing.com - Arroyo Seco Motorcyclist Association a CCS affiliate in southern New Mexico.
There is also SMRI which races at Sandia in ABQ.
There's getting to be a few more GP bikes out here.
-z.
If you don't race, you can be a corner worker and get some good stories from some of us. ;D(here she goes again :P).
(Thread hiccup)
Hey Jerkygirl, I just so happen to know what a Wabbit is, I wonder who else does? ;)
I don't know what a wabbit is? Go ahead, tell me. Is it allowable on the board? LOL :)

Ummm, I don't think so. :-X :o
Just do a search on the web with that spelling, it will show up right away! (a woman I know let me in on this info, it's more or less a...well...ummm... man replacement for the ladies! ;)).
(thread hiccup over)
So Kurt, why in the world would you want to leave beautiful Colorado? What part did you live in?
Anyways, welcome to CCS again!
That's a tough one Mike... I still love the Denver area, but recent (3years) decisions have put me in the position of having to go back to working a real job, and lowering the cost of living for my family. Plus Albuquerque is home to a very good friend and ex-race partner.
Although I consider myself a stable individual, our last year has been a tornado. We had little Rainey Joy (daughter) - but my wife's work didn't file the benefits in time, We had a car stolen, I was in the chinese dirtbike business online - disaster, and finally... I am home now with a broken ankle and no insurance for lost wages. Believe it or not - I fell in the driveway getting the baby out of the car -- 10 years of roadracing and this is how I get hurt :-/
Bike-wise I am looking forward to experiencing different clubs and getting away from the MRA a bit. I was part of the Racing 2 Save Lives effort, and I am the Managing Editor of the MRA program -- so I was in pretty deep.
