Some may remember a bill which was supposed to protect people from being denied health coverage if injured while participating in legal activities. That bill got warped by the politicians and currently allows health insurance providers the legal option of denying you coverage if participating in something not neccesary to daily life. Examples of this include recreational sports, riding a bicycle, skiing, motorcycling, etc. This bill has been pursued aggressively by the AMA to get it fixed, the corrected version is going to be up for vote soon.
Everyone is URGED to at least send the automated pre-written response on the AMA's site to their local law makers who will be voting on this soon. There are 2 Health Insurance 'Action Responses' on the page that is linked to below. This is simple to do and we all need to take a few minutes to make this happen, this is very serious and must be corrected! Thanks.
