Title: CRA Invitational Challenge Races
Post by: TrackAddix on September 29, 2005, 12:07:32 PM
Hey Gang,

WHAT IS IT?
--------------
The Central Roadracing Association is holding a race at Mid America Motorplex on the weekend of October 15th and 16th.  They have layed down the gauntlet and challenged all clubs to come out and race against them.  They will recognize your race license and are not requiring you to purchase a CRA race license.

FRIDAY PRACTICE
---------------------
The Friday practice is being hosted by TrackAddix.  If you have not raced at MAM before, the track has some very technical areas.  If you do not want to embarass your club by getting "spanked" by the CRA, you will need lots of practice time on this track.

Something to be aware of, there is very little practice time on Saturday or Sunday.  The CRA is like the CCS in that there are only 1 or 2  short practices in the morning on race days.

There will be complete tire, parts, and suspension support available.  We will have 2 ambulances on site and a full corner worker staff.  Food concessions will also be available.  For those interested, the drag strip will be available Friday night if you want to practice your starts.

Here is a link to our website to pre-register for the Friday practice.  By pre-registering you will save yourself time, and speed up the check-in  process on Friday morning.  http://trackaddix.com/events/?event_view=49

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO RACE WITH THE CRA?
-------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a link to a page on the CRA website that will give you the costs involved.  Scroll down to the bottom.

HOW DO I REGISTER?
--------------------------
Here is a link to the pre-registration form for the CRA.

WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER?
--------------------------------
Right Now!!!!!   I'm not kidding!!!!  A word to the wise, the CRA grids by order of registration.  If you don't want to be on the back row of the 3rd wave, don't procrastinate on this.  Get registered right now!!  You know the CRA members are getting registered so that they can be in front of you on the grid.

WHAT ARE THE FACILITIES LIKE AT MAM?
------------------------------------------------
*Camping will be permitted in the paddock beginning Thursday night.
*There is NO power in the paddock so you will need your generator.
*Private showers and real bathrooms, no Sani-cans.
*Food conession building.
*Large grandstands with a view of the entire track.
*A word to the wise regarding the paddock.  Here is another reason to arrive early.  The previous track manager "cheaped out" when it came to paving the paddock.  Many areas of the asphalt are coming apart, so you want to arrive early to stake out a good spot.

FUEL FOR THE FIRE!
-----------------------
The CRA thinks they are "fast" because their home track is Brainerd, with the fastest turn in North America.  Here is your chance to see how you stack up against the riders in other clubs around the country.  Will you do the "spanking" or will you be the one getting spanked.  Come find out!

Hope to see you all there!!!  The exhaust you will be smelling is mine! :D
