I asked this already once, and I'm still unclear, so figured I'd ask again instead of being on the outs... So how does it work?? What classes?? What pay?? What sponsers?? How much?? What do they gain from this?? How/When do you know if you're in the money?? And anything else I missed....Thanks guys in advance and for all your help so far.
Also, for a new guy, I don't plan on crashing...but we all know it's probably inevitable...how many spare clip-ons/levers/pegs do you guys carry or have on average?? I'll start another topic about spares to buy in a sec too...
Pete,
You will need to look at the site and find the link regarding contingency.
In short for example, I run Bridgestone tires. I finish first in class, and I will receive a $100 certificate towards my next set of tires.
First though you will need to register with whatever brand you choose to use(if they require you to). Then fill out your contingency form at tech-inspection and hand it to them. They check to make sure you have the appropriate gear and stickers. hen if you are lucky or skilled enough to place well within contingency range, you get the bucks.

Carry the obvious stuff that breaks in a low side : clipons, pegs, levers, plastic, frame sliders. After that, no matter what you bring you will need what you don't have so don't sweat it to much.
Haha, thats probably true.
Here's the form:
http://www.formulausa.com/ccs/contingency/FUSARR%20claim%20form%2005.pdf
The manufacturer contingency has specific dates. All others are every weekend, paying out as shown on page 2.
In order to be eligible, you need to:
1. Run the product
2. Have a sticker on the bike (nearly 100% of the time)
3. Sometimes you have to register with the vendor (i.e., pirelli) but most often not
4. Sometimes you have to file for contingency afterwards (i.e., Honda) but again most often not.
Fill out the form before going to Tech on race morning. Turn it in and finish well!

that last part always gets me.... ::)
Pete:
If your an amateur you don't have to worry about manufacturer contingency (Honda, Suzuki, etc.) unless you run a Buell, 'cause they don't pay amateurs.
Fill out the contingency form and take it to tech and hope for top 5's.
Also, if you race the GTO, GTU, or GTL races on Saturday, they pay credits towards future entry fees (win, get a $175 certificate).
Plus, race Unlimited GP and it pays cash to win. For amatuers it pays $200 to win and works it way down to 10th place.
If your a fast amateur, like my buddy Nate Doebert, you win 6 races a weekend and get:
Perelli $60 x 6 = $360
Vortex $30 x 6 = $180
Hotbodies $30 x 6 = $180
GTU $175
GTO $175
Unlimited GP $200
For a total of $1,270 in cash and prizes.
If you average about 6th place like me you get two things, Jack and $hit!
Am I missing something about Pirelli Contengency money? I registered on thier site, filled out the forms before tech, finished top three several occasions and nothing every shows up on thier website.
What am I doing wrong?
For Pirelli contingency, there needs to be a minimum of 8 racers in your feild to get any payout.
That hasnt seemed to make any difference
