So with my 5 yr old all geared and padded, we cranked up the pocket rocket we got at the Wegman auction for the first lesson.
As I'm explaining the fundamentals of starting, stopping, breaking, throttle control, etc., he's pushing me away and climbing on.
With the neighbors watching, he does a few laps around the cul-de-sac and goes up the driveway. I stop him for a few pointers, he grabs a fist full of throttle and does a mach 5 tank slapper down the driveway off the end of the culvert.
I pick him up from under the bike while he's screaming, ask him if he's hurt, to which he responds, "(sniff..sniff)....I'm pissed because I (sniff..sniff) crashed (sniff..sniff)....I don't want that anymore.." I said, "What, the bike?" He says, "No, the ditch...go fill it up with dirt, Daddy!"
A few minutes later I ask him if he wants to try again; he says, "Well, only if....I don't think we should tell my mom. Ok Daddy?"

That's hilarious! Kids on bikes are the best...
Queue went out today for a few hours on the 150. This was his first LONG bit of seat time. He started jumping. We have a jump about 1 1/2' high in the back yard. I look out from the garage a short bit later and he's hitting this thing in 3rd gear clearing about 15' before touching down. Made us a bit nervous, but he demonstrated amazing control with it.
And today we learned blipping and clutchless upshifting! :D
You guys are missing the obvious question: Did you fill the ditch with dirt? ;D

That's awesome. My son (3) and daughter (6) are learning the CRF, it's soo fun to watch. I think I could make the transition from racer to crew chief pretty easily. ;D

That's what I should do
my 5 year old flipped her z50 the first time she rode, she is now 7 and still not comfortable on one by herself, (i had the throttle limitter on, it would not even move uphill with me on it)
