So Gold Wings are now going to be equiped with airbags! Hey Gygax, I wonder if you can make it fit your GSXR? ;)

That's a bad idea.
So, now if a local squid gets in a crash, the lawyer will say, "Did your bike have an air bag? Well, why not?"
It "detects" an on coming crash.
Air bags in car need safety belts. Nice to see that Honda is making this info available to the AP before it would get it out to the people that actually ride.
Cost?

And, for example, you had a wing with this option.
You are gonna hit the front fender of a car that pulled out from a stop sign. This is not avoidable...
Would you...
A) rather just go over the hood from a bike without airbags
or B) get tossed 15' into the air after bouncing off teh airbag?
;D ;D ;D

Being that this is a Gold Wing we are talking about, wouldn't you have to smash through the windshield before going over the hood?
-z.
Thought goldwings already had selt belts. ;D
Now Edgar, I thought you would find that article first. Great I can see the 2006 CCS rules now, Sec 5.03 All motorcycles that compete in any CCS sanctioned event must be equipped with an air bag to prevent injuries sustained from a collision with another rider or the ground. You think racing is expensive now, you know how much airbags cost? I'd rather see more exposure towards "airbags" in your leathers and better safety gear.
Better safety gear is available, but riders and racers don't buy it. How is an air bag on a rider, no secure universal mounting location, going to make any kind of sense.
Go buy a set of Vanson's. Sorry, I may be "super", but the leathers have always helped me where others weren't so "lucky"...or just cheaped out.
Made in USA too. Supports your children's, or your kids to come, schools anyway by paying American workers working with American leather.

If I could just land on my a$$ I wouldn't need 'em 8)
