Topic of concern:
Entrance to ACC on Thursday/Friday night after 10:00pm

I spoke with Mark, the assistant track manager and asked about entrance to the track after 10pm.  He said basically that they will do what they can to let people in around the clock, but CCS controls this.

My concern is that ACC has VERY limited parking outside the gate, and the access road is not large enough to park a vehicle on overnight.  The last weekend, the lot was overflowing.  This weekend will be FAR worse!

I understand that you need people to sign the releases and PAY the gate fee.  However, this is possible at BHF around the clock, so why can it not be worked out at ACC?  Or work an alternative (take my driver's license, etc).

ACC is obviously a challenge as there are 2 tracks, and you (CCS) only control a portion of the activity, so not everyone will be paying your fees, following your rules, etc.  Definitely not the ideal situation.  However, PLEASE think of the racers here and do something TODAY to ensure we can get in around the clock.

Isn't there an entrance to the cemetary beyond the gate?  Don't know if you could get your rig through there or if they'd want to allow access from that point tho...

Thorny, I hear you, and I made arrangements so I will be there before 10.  However, I made the statement with the consideration of EVERYONE who will be coming...  If you come down, whether you get in or not, tomorrow AM and Sat AM, you will see what I'm talking about.  It isn't pretty...

I aint coming down. Due to the fact that gas is still $3.10 a gal. up here I may never leave my house again. That would put me into as much $ to get there as it used to cost for me to do a rip off R.A. weekend for regional points. (ROC prices for regional points at RA in the snow in April)

Autobahn - access to the track is closed at 10pm. CCS/FUSA gate person leaves at that time. It is up to the race track after 10pm.

Jeff it was even worse on Wed......we got here way before 10 to do the track day, but we couldn't get in.  There were people at the gate who would let us check in, but they told use we had to camp in the parking lot. Rather than unload the trailer we got a hotel.

Further compounding the frustration was the fact that we had to leave the track and come back in on Thurs......they made all of us leave.

I heard about that and have VERY strong feelings/opinions on it which, I'll really have to keep to myself...  This is not to say I don't know or understand why it was done as I very much so do.  I just don't agree with it...   :-X :-X :-X

For all the money I pay to CCS they should have someone waiting on us hand and foot... that includes putting personal at the gate.

What I saw at Autobahn was the biggest cluster f*ck in my life.  CCS making us pack up our entire pit and move outside the gates, just so they can make sure that all of the 500 registered people can pay thier gate fees.

Maybe they should do the smart thing and make provisions in advance to make sure this sort of hassel does not happen in the future.

Yeah, they did... but they "wanted to make sure no one was sneeking in"...

Glad they inconvienced everyone with hours of work to break down pit and relocate outside like we were a bunch of gradeschool kids.

I personally think it was because with the little parking lot and the fact they had the trackday prior to the event, some of the squids (such as myself) had pit set up on prime real estate and the big dogs did not have PREMIUM spots to set up...

As soon as our buddy broke down his camp, the Pirelli truck drove right over and snagged his spot.  Apparently if you truck/trailer is large enough then the rules are negotiable.  He must of been a FUSA team owner... LOL !

Since I've never seen CCS do anything like this, was it at the direction of CCS or Autobahn? Weird...

I was not there either but the popular rumor is we do not have to worry about crappy track surface, lack of power, no pa, or any other problems because it may not be financially worth it for ccs or fusa to go back.
Evidently the racetrack commands too much $$$.

   Jeff,
     I guess Mr. Elliot and Mr. Fuhrman did not respond to your plea for some organizational changes for the ACC weekend. Unfortunately, it sounds like it was worse than anticipated.  What would be the next constructive step to take towards remedying that scenario? I am sincerely curious, and not being sarcastic or trying to stir the pot.  

the solution is a high-level proposal which will be in Kevin's hands by the end of the month to address multiple problems in a far more efficient manner than what is currently being seen.

This is something I am not working on alone...

Recognize that Kevin is able to see problems.  He is a pretty clear thinker.  

He's worked with many race tracks, new and old, over the years.  This won't be anything different.

There are tracks that we no longer go to, and there are tracks that CCS has returned to.
