Definitly getting one when for when I rebuild the race bike. I saw one in the LP catalog priced way under $200. It is a Dale Walker Model that features an on/off switch and adjustable kill time dial. Is this all I need, or would you guys recommend a nicer one?
many people choose the dynojet one which interfaces with the power commander.
Personally, I have and prefer the Translogic unit. It adjusts automatically based on RPM, Speed and how quickly you push the shifter.
Of course, it's 4x the price, but hey...
dont waste your money on the dale walker,it was designed for drag racing..look into the translogic brand or the kls brand..I have run the translogic on all the superbikes that I have built...dyno jet also makes one also...
I use a Translogix, it works awesome. Tip; on the pig-tail units, don't solder in the connections, use scotch locks. The vibration of the bike breaks the solder joints.

Not on a Honda it doesn't...
Then again it may be the poor soldering job you do Dave... LOL.. (running away now)
Naa..the joints are good, it's all the crashing that creates the excessive vibes. BTW Jeff, who's race plastic looks worse right now? ;D
Amar Bazzaz, Mladins old crew chief now has his own company making trick race stuff. We just got some of his quick shifters and so far everything looks great. Remember, you get what you pay for in most cases.
I had the Dale Walker one and it broke in less than a season. Then I bought a Translogic and it worked well. On my current bike, I own a Dynojet one and I think it's the easiest one I had to work with. It's real easy to setup, turn it on oro ff and worked perfectly out of the box with no tuning needed.
I also heard some great things about the Amar Bazzas, like Rob mentioned.

LOL... I dunno.. You know me, I'm not big on repairs, so she runs as is so long as the bodywork stays on during the race...
And besides, I still have one good "picture" side. Just gotta make sure I'm in a right hand turn when people are snapping pics. ;D
Thanks for the heads up. I also don;t like the way the Dale Walker one is triggered, looks like a brake light sensor witht he spring...
I think I'll be getting the Dyna Jet one...I'm pricing them out now.
This bike is going to be better than when I started the season...and done before I can race it again. :-/ Ah well soon enough I'll be back in the saddle...
