but the real question is why would you want to try such a track.  yeah a few orgs have tried a trackday there with minimal success. the thing is that at a trackday when you know that the helicopter is waiting nearby there is some margin of error or lack of pushing involved. during a race that all goes out the window. everyone knows that during a race people tend to ride alot closer to 100% than at a trackday. the true shame in all of this is that the response tends to be " we aren't forcing anyone to ride there" well for someone in the points chase or championship hunt you really do have to ride there or give up a seasons worth of very hard work.

it's very disapointing to hear that an org. would side with a track over the safety of it's members. i think that wera and most of the trackday orgs are right on track with boycotting this facility. hopefully ccs will follow the trend.

Definately changed because of safety.  Personaly I would not run there either.

I only have a few questions..

The link did not say that the race was ever to run on the new course to begin with.  It only stated that it would not be on the.  Could this post have been made to ensure that all racers knew where to be?  I don't know.

As far as other orgs riding the track.. there have been both good and bad reviews..  but no one has been on the track but cars since the new section has been added.

So I will save my viewpoint until after a ride it next week

Please post your honest opinion after you ride it. Who else is going to ride it with you?

Wera was scheduled to run on the Shenadoah circuit.  Summit simply didnt have anymoe dates for the motorcycles racing orgs on the Main circuit.  Fortunately for Wera, some car goup must have cancelled the 17-18 weekend and Wera jumped on it, it definitely wasnt available this entire time.  CCS is probably out of luck for a Main weekend this year.

You have got to ask yourself is it worth it.. I don't think it is. How many walls are on the main course, not many but people end up finding them. So now lets race(not ride) on a track encircled with walls. It's just asking for trouble. I don't like seeing RIP's on the msg board. :-[

I wouldn't mind taking a closer look at it...... on a trackday.

Anyone need control riders for an upcoming t-day??

Hey SVbadguy- you coming to the next Coleman day? Bad Monkey and I were the tards running tech.

I know I have said in the past that track is unsafe and that I wouldn't ride it if I didn't have to, but  I'll save my remarks until after I have raced there. I as well heard mixed remarks about the track, and yes I am going to race there..... I really don't have a choice. Good luck to everyone that races it, and be smart and be safe.

Since that link from TPM is up again; I thought I would check as my memory was a little fuzzy before on which way the track went and confirmed that video is of the track going backwards due to the proxity of the bridge it will be run clockwise plus that video is not of the correct layout that will be tested/raced.

FYI I am coming up with extra airfence in case more is needed or the shipment that BSR has ordered does not arrive in time.

I will be there as well for the test.  I am keeping an open mind about the whole situation.  I would like to see the track work out.  I am probabl with everyone else that is going to the test just waiting to get back to the computer to give everyone there thought on the track and the changes that were made.

Is the upcoming race going to be run? Or is the test going to be the final decision?
