Title: riders airlifted out at Summit
Post by: ahastings on July 04, 2005, 06:28:26 AM
Anyone know the status, I had heard one was Ned "peanut" Brown the last race of the day in turn 5.
And Sherri "Lizzi" in the Lightweight race sustained 2 broken legs in a turn 3 crash.

My thoughts and prayers go out to both riders and their families...Let me know if you hear anything else...

Talked to WVracer97 and he called the (2) local hospitals that he knew took Medi Vac flights and there is no patient by the name of Ned Brown there...

Of course they may be under silence as family request...Let's keep thinking positive... ;)

VERY, VERY good news about "PEANUT" Ned Brown...

Spoke to davesoldgsxr929 a lil while ago and told me the following info...

They Medi Vac'd him because it was very hard for him to breath...He has some busted up ribs & may actually get to go home today...!!! ;D

As Dave said I'm ok.  I just got home and I have a few cracked ribs and a bruised lung.  I was having so much trouble breathing and since they didn't know if there were any internal injuries that they airlifted me.

The doc was suprised there was so little damage!

Anyway I want to thank everyone for helping pack up my stuff and the CCS family as well.

To come out of this one, I know someone is looking out for me.

Hopefully I'll be back soon.

BTW..The other rider involved was #168 Kawi.  If anyone know a way I can get intouch with him I would appreciate it.

Wow i know how you feel.  i made a move to go under someone and couldn't quite make it, so i was hard on the brakes so i wouldn't clip them.  (ryan patterson i think.) there's some rumors out there that i got tapped a bit 1st but i don't know that's true.  either way it was a racing incident. unfortunately for me the guy behind motorcrossed over me, that's where most of my injuies came from.  i've been told he had nowhere to go.  anyway i don't think it was anything on the track in my case, it was just my fault it seems.

heal up quick.  (this is keith right?)

glad your alright peanut. no one likes to see a fellow racer get hurt.. i had a good get off at the last summit event in t10. i ended up blasting my ribs really bad. no breaks, but couldnt sleep or breathe deep for over a week.  when it happened i couldnt breathe at all, but i did regain my wind.  when i go through t10 now it feels like there are 8 million bumps in that turn just waiting for me to run over. ;)

i also hope the lady that was air lifted is alright. we were all out looking for her kids after they made the announcement.

Most of my friends call me Kevin, on a good day ::)
Breathing is overated .I'm waiting for Steve to send me film of my mishap to determine what I did wrong.
 We both had onboard camera's.

Yup Dave interesting how those can't be called minor but I guess your prospective changes in this sport.  Considering what could have been and what unfortunately has happened to some others recently, these are minor no doubt about it.

I haven't seen your name anywhere lately, are you going to race Barber?

LOL...minor...yeah, it's all about perspective.

Barber?  In October.  Raced Daytona and won a couple races with AHRMA.  Missed some stuff early in the year because of a family issue, and I'm making a little return to AMA this year.  Spectators are more important to my generation of funds for pediatric cancer research, so more AMA races will help.

I've been here and there for schools.

Peanut,
Yes. They put cameras all over my bike . Recorded everything. I even forgot to turn it off,so I got the ride back to the paddock too. Steve used his own camera. I'll let you know how it turns out.
