I was sorting through all the broken parts that the guys in T1-T2 collected for me after my big endo in Thunderbike when I came to the realization that several of the bits and pieces were not mine.
You guys must have been busy...
If I remember correctly we had 18 bikes down on Saturday and 23 down on Sunday. That is about 3/worker.
There were some questions about response time in turn 2. Normally we would have a worker in "the catchers mitt" on a corner like that but at Autobahn the other track with cars zooming by is right at the back of the mitt.
As far as the last crash of the weekend deep in 2 some riders thought we should have stopped the race. We discussed the incident with all the workers after the event Sunday. The workers realize it was close to a RED Flag situation but they decided to let the race continue for the last lap and 1/2. They had the proper flags up and no one else was envolved. Close call but I'll go with the workers.

Leaving bikes lay on or at the edge of a race track is not a good idea anytime. Maybe it was only 1 1/2 laps but does that mean no one else will crash in that time? Warning flags are just that, they cannot prevent someone else from crashing into the bike on the track.
Earlier Sunday there was another incident in 1-2 where a bike lay on the edge of the track for 2+ laps.
My opinion, for what it's worth, is the races should have been stopped.

I agree, the race should have been red flagged... Bottom line!
I wanted to come down and work, but we had to work friday night until midnight. Wouldnt had got home until 1am and would had to leave home for the track at 3-3:30am 2hrs to get the tent and gear stowed in teh truck, shower and plan out a route on the computer. Then again I was exhausted from 5 days of hurry up and get these trailers built. >:(

I didn't have a problem with that bike on the edge of the track at all. It was well down the track from the corner. It was just one more spot on the track you didn't want to be out of many ;D
I need to find out who the guy was at 2 on saturday, I owe a big thanks, bcuz My hand got scraped and I had to leave my bike without being able to help push it...

well He saw my condition and we discussed it, I told him I had to get some attention for my hand, HE was really cool about it!!!
