Last night we took my soon-to-be-three-year-old son Alex to a local state park to row around in the kayak for a little while. When we were finished, we stopped by the motocross track to see if anyone was out. There was only one bike circulating, what looked to be a teenager on a CRF250R. We sat in the grandstands for a few laps to watch. There are some pretty large jumps right in front of the stands, so Alex's eyes got huge as the kid would do the double in front of us. I told him "That's a Honda. Hondas are red!" A few minutes later, out of nowhere, Alex says excitedly, "When I get bigger I'm going to have numbers on my shirt and race a Honda!"

just don't be a little league dad...
thats AWESOME Kris... I keep telling my wife how we are going to "introduce" our son (if you saw my family tree... you'd agree it will be a boy) to motorcycles at a young age. Developing respect for them at a young age... wish my parents did the same! just an introduction, if he continues to love it, GREAT! If not, so be it. Same with sports.

AMEN!!!! Drives me nuts when parents try to live vicariously through their kids...
As long as you get the kid a Suzuki, everything will be fine.... :D

This coming from the guy who raced a Yamaha for 5 years?
;D
Congrats Kris, now go and buy him a CRF50 and some training wheels!
We'll definitely encourage him to do what he wants to do and not participate in any sport just because Mom or Dad want him there. 8)
Don't you ride a Suzuki? ;D
