Title: Lost watch at Summit FUSA event
Post by: njracer1 on May 31, 2005, 10:25:46 AM
The watch was lost by my gf on Sat morning in the new bathrooms.  She took if off to shower and placed it under her girly stuff on the bench....once done with the shower, she picked up her stuff and left the watch.  Once she realized she left her watch she ran back and it was already gone.  We made a plea for the party to return the watch to the MARRC booth but it neve showed up.

If anybody has any info on the watch, please e-mail me at hawk_racer@yahoo.com and I'll describe the watch to ya.

It was a birthday gift from me and she is really upset she lost it.

OTOH - I'm REALLY pissed at the female that found the watch and decided to keep it rather than turn it in like a good person.  Just remember....karma is a beotch.

Thanks and I hope we get it back.

Yeah, Brian, I hope someone comes forth. I was the one helping your gf....and took her over to Art Staples so he could make an announcement on the PA. It's unfortunate that it hasn't turned up.

I will check the MARRC both next weekend when I go back.....maybe someone turned it in late on Monday.

My girl usually puts her watch on her wrist.  Most women who can hold a watch under their girly stuff tend to be half-men. :D

I believe I recall that Timing and Scoring was in posession of that watch at one point in the weekend. They asked me to page the owner to T/S. I believe it was resolved that the watch was tranferred by a runner to the MARRC info booth. I can't remember if i made the page or not, but I believe that I paged the owner to the info booth. Regardless of whether I or Art paged or not, it's my belief that the watch was delivered to the info booth.

I'm sorry I don't remember more detail than this. I know what it's like to lose something important to you.

If you need more help on resolving this or if you think I can help, email me (don't PM me or do anything else that I can't figure out) or call me (contact info on my website).

I wish you the best on this.

my step daughter was working the info booth all weekend.

I will talk to her tonight to see if someone turned the watch in.  If the watch is still in the info booth I will go by and pick it up this week.

Please email me your address and I'll overnight it to you.

It just goes to show ya....racers and their family's are the best people on this big rock we call earth.

However, I might have to fool the gf into thinking I went out and bought another watch for her......you'll never know what I'll get in return for it. ;D

According to the two people who worked in the MARRC Info Booth (one of them being my stepdaughter) no watches were delivered to the Info Booth at all this weekend.

Do you happen to know who the "runner" was that the watch was given to?

Well, I'm battin ZERO on trying to locate this watch.  I can't get a phone number or e-mail address for the girl in timing and scoring (Amber) who might have seen or taken possession of the watch.

If anybody has any contact information for Amber in timing and scoring, please e-mail me at hawk_racer@yahoo.com

BTW - I've already spoke with Tiffiney and Kevin from CCS/FUSA and I'm battin ZERO there as well.

Thanks!

Brian
