Title: Topeka, KS race???
Post by: Pierre - Team PMR on May 26, 2005, 08:49:30 AM
There is some conflicting information on the schedules about the race in Topeka, ks on June 19th.

Is this a Midwest event or a Great Plaines or both??

I asked a CCS official in the control tower at Blackhawk on May 8th...but they were unsure.

Anyone have a clue?

I was wondering the same.  I think it's just a Great Plaines event, it is on the "Midwest Stumpy Calander" tho.... but isn't it only GP on the CCS site?

I'm 99% certain it's a Great Plains event.

Thanks for asking Pierre.  I've been meaning to ask the same thing.  I hope we can get a definitive answer, and I hope it's not a Midwest race.  My credit card can only take so much.

I confirmed with Bill Fehrman that Heartland Park is a single-region, Great Plains event.

Is there camping at Heartland Park?  I'm bringing my sleeping bag and some "stuff", but no bike.  Will need some floor space and a shower!

Kim,
The shower part will be the biggest challenge unless they've made updates since last season.  Can you say, Local Truck Stop?  There are some decent grassy areas for tents but no shade to speak of.

Anybody been there for a Track Day this season that would now about improves they've made since last season?  I know the resurfacing of the track isn't planned until after this season, but was hoping they got going on some of the other improvements they had talked about.

I have been there twice this year and its just as bumpy as last year.  Looking like resurfacing will occur this summer so we will have smooth sailing late summer/early fall if all goes well!

This is going to be a SMALL turnout if its only one region...
