Due to Friday & Saturday night Drag races on the main course at Firebird International Raceway, our track day on June 4th and our race day on June 5th have been moved to the East track.
Also, we have been informed by the FIR management that the Gila River Fire Dept. will be on site making spot checks of all pit spaces. We are required to have a minimum of two (2) 5lb. fire bottles in each pit were fuel is present. No barbeques within 10 ft of combustibles or awnings. All electrical cords shall be rated for outdoor use. The fire lanes must be observed and unobstructed at all times. The notice states that "Operators in violation of the Fire and Life Safety Codes will receive a RED tag, prohibiting use."
We just received this information and our goal at CCS/SW is to give all of our riders as much advance notice as possible.
See you at the races.

So who'd we tick off?

This after I spent all morning practicing my best "Rossi" passes on the Main track today!!! :-/
Oh well.... I prefer the East track anyway. 8)
Thanks for the "heads up" Randy!

Bummer, I was going to come ride :( It's been too long since I've ridden main.

For cords we've had a while, and don't have the original packing for, how do we tell if they're complient to the rule "All electrical cords shall be rated for outdoor use."???

Randy, thanks for the advanced notice... you
guys do a great job in the SW!!! :)
I will miss not racing the Main track, and would
have loved to seen Roger put the hammer down there once again!! :o

Why in the world were you looking... ;D

Yeah, why WERE you looking? And what's wrong about baths in the parking lot??? ??? ;D

I was minding my own business packing up our pit when I saw this blinding white light coming from across the parking lot. I glanced to see it and even though I immediately turned away, the image is etched into my eyes. I will be tortured for all eternity.

Are you guys gonna have some tee's at the next race?  If so, I could promote them for you a little (wink wink- nudge nudge- know what I mean ;))

Yeah, and we'll bring hats too!
Cory, I forget who it was who wanted to talk with me about the website. Karen? Have the right lady email me if you can.

Will do- she has been pretty busy lately- but I will get her your email- Thanks Brian.

Just in case anyone was wondering where to get fire extinguishers that meet the criteria cheaply, I found some at Costco Business Center.
They're First Alert 5-lb bottles, they were $18.99, and they're rated 3-A, 40-B, C - which means they're good for gasoline fires.
Even if the Gila River FD thing is a little hokey, having a firebottle in your pits is probably a Really Good Idea.
