That is Norm Katona.  Held the #2 plate in 2003 here in the Pacific/South West.  I'll find out shortly.

Thanks for the update Matt...

When you talk to him, be sure to wish him well from the CCS crew.

How the hell does your helmet come off? :o

You would be amazed at the forces that one goes through when you crash. With all the safety gear that is used it is but a feable attempt to counteract these forces.

Poor fit, improperly tightened chin strap, damaged (cut, frayed) chin strap.

My Suomy requires a stretch with the chin straps and a good bit of effort to remove.  With the chinstrap properly tightened, my head would have to come off with it.
And I am NO STRANGER to the incredible forces generated by a crash.  Spyderchick can testify to that.  I try to keep my bill with her paid each season.... :-[

Looked like a pretty scary crash and even scarier that he has the same number as me. YIKES!! :o Hope he's ok though.

Thank you all that helped pack up my stuff/bikes at
the track while I was in the hospital!
Thanks to Peter Doyle, Scott Willson, Chad Green,
Stephan Martin, Creech, Corry Call and his pit crew,
Tom and Grace Dorsey, and everyone else not
mentioned....It's great to know that I have wonderfull
friends out there, thanks again.
Thanks to all my friends that called to wish me a fast
recovery, Pete Doyle, Mike Raab, Don Rudolfs, Stephan
Martin, and many more.

Here's a minor update on my condition: CT scan came
out good, I suffered a concussion, was knocked out for
a long time, still feel dizzyness from time to time,
lacerasion to the forhead, stiched back together, road
rash on face/nose/forhead, bruised buttocks and
shoulders.
I am still in constant pain, but it's getting better
by the day.  I should be back at work by monday.

Thanks again to all that helped, and supported me.

Sincerely,
Norm.

Matt,

Don't publicly list others' email addresses when forwarding. I'm inclined to believe that Norm didn't request you do that.

That's just not correct netiquette.

Dunno Griff... The email was sent to a public email list which anyone can subscribe...  That's pretty much free game there.

If it had been a personal 1-on-1 email, then I'd feel different.

Just my opinion though...

My bad - my apologies, Matt. I wasn't aware that it was sent out publicly. Thx for the fix, Jeff.

I'm just used to getting my email addy hijacked and having to put up with all kinds of kinky email.

Come to think of it, I kind of like the kinky emails, so ... never mind.
