Somebody has way to much free time on their hands :-X
In middle school (7th grade) we took an aptitude test which helped to guide what classes we would have the next year. What was found was that even though I wasn't someone that liked to read alot I had an ability to read very fast and comprehend what I just read, that landed me in an advanced speed reading class in 8th grade. We learned how to read even faster and still comprehend what we read, which was in large part to what the teacher called 'scanning' the words. She said that what slows down alot of people is that they read like they talk, by pronunciating each word in there head as though they were talking out loud. We were taught not to actaully read the words to yourself like you were sounding them out thru talking, but instead to just 'scan' over the words without mentally sounding out the words. They actually had a projector that flashed 1 sentence onto a screen at a time and could be set at a certain words per minute rate of flashing sentences onto that screen. It's amazing how fast we could scan what we were seeing as the sentences flashed in front of us.
What's cool about the example you showed above is that I can still speed read it. The power of the human mind to fix what's wrong at a fast pace is pretty amazing. :)
Working so many years on a computer...
I've forgotten how to spell words. Renee will ask me how to spell something, but for the life of me, I can't remember how to spell it, but plop me down in front of a keyboard, and the words just flow.
Weird.

I love speed reading .... none of my sales representatives seem to believe that I can walk into a Barnes & Noble, order a coffee and read a business book before the coffee gets cold or runs out...
It makes it pretty easy for me to acheive my goal of reading a business book every week...
Makes it tough for them though on quarterly evaluations where they tell me they read ONE book in the last three months!
;D
I read slpeling, sleeping. What does this mean?
