Well, Roger, Rhiannon and I went to see the final Milwaukee showing last night.
The movie rocked. It really gives you that gritty insight of what it's like to do the Baja 1000.
It's narrated in a style similar to On Any Sunday.(Go figure, the same family put this one together). The cinematography was decent, and the interviews & insights reminded me of the guys in our pits, only alot dirtier.
Defintiely one for the collection when it comes out on DVD.
Rhiannon wants to run the Baja, and this just made her want to do it more.
Someone needs to do an Isle of Mann TT documentary now. ;D
Wait a minute, I thought the show on the 22nd was the only showing? How much longer will it be at the Oriental?
That's what I thought too, but we checked with the theatre and it played throughout the week. We saw the last showing at the Downer at 9:45 last night.
The Dust to Glory site wasn't making it clear how long each theatre would have the film. I figured that most theatres play movies for a week, so I took a shot and we lucked out.
Dust to Glory is a cool movie. A bunch of us went to see it in the Detroit area last Friday.
I left it thinking:
(a) Malcom Smith can still ride better than I ever will
(b) "I gotta see this again" (A lot of info too quickly for me and great photography)
(c) "I must avoid silt at all costs"
(d) "If I should end up in silt, pin (or floor) it and pray" ;D
Dana Brown, the director of Dust to Glory, is the son of the director of Any Given Sunday (Bruce Brown).

The thing about Mouse was that I never thought they covered what a physical toll running the race solo must have been. It's one of the only small criticisms I had. I just wish they would have had him reflect on that a bit more.
We have a new saying now: "blowing bubbles", when you're so fatigued you become incoherant. ;) ;D

One Man's Island:

It used to have its own site, but google didn't turn that up (at least not on the first page...)
I wondered about that phrase ???
I pictured someone so tired that only spit bubbles appeared when they tried to talk.
