Title: case gaurd and # plate ?
Post by: cane on April 27, 2005, 06:53:23 PM
Do I need to have an after market case gaurd for my 03' r6 to get through tech and will 6" numbers pass for the front # plate.  I normally race wera and this weekend will be my first race with ccs.  I just want everything to go smoothly.  Any other advice is greatly apreciated. Thanx in advance for help you provide.

Yes side covers are required. (or case guards)

6" numbers frowned upon but do pass tech if installed properly (ie. level, no serifs and, proper spacing)

most times if you have a 3 digit number they will let you by with the 6 inchers.

Thanks for the help but I should of been more specific on the case gaurd, I have an aftermarket one on the right becouse it is required by wera but on the left side it is stock because it is not required by wera.  So my question is do I need to have it for the left side.  Thanks.

yes you should have it just incase you crash!  better to have it than risk bending a crank shaft.

WERA does not require any side covers from 2000+

CCS requires it on both sides on R6 left side only on R1 and both sides until 1999 on GSXR then left side only 2000+
