Title: Minimum Grid for Contingency
Post by: Racingxtc7 on April 27, 2005, 01:49:31 PM
If there is a minimum of 10 riders for contingency and there are 10 riders on the grid but some people don't show up, does it still count? I know there was 10 people on the grid for 125gp but only 8 finished, so does that count for contingency?

I think you're screwed if the turnout isn't large enough.   :-/

define "turnout"? Racers Registered? or Racers Competed? What about if someone goes home without a refund? Then they're still on the grid!

Ten riders have to finish at least one lap to be scored (10 riders have to be listed on the results).  This is the only way you're going to qualify for contingency.

In some rare cases, there only need to be 5 riders, depends on the manufacturer. Check the cintigency sheets available at registration.
