Title: wheel srtaightening?
Post by: bambam on April 21, 2005, 09:56:30 AM
ok so who has had it done? has anyone used Frame Straight System in Michigan? http://www.framestraightsystem.com/index.htm
i have a slightly bent front wheel. i hate to throw it away but it is just enough to wobble at track speeds. could i trust this afterwards? it's not a bad bend but when they straighten it will it weaken it? it is the front and i'm a bigger guy and would hate to have it fail under braking for turn 1 ya know. would you just get a new one and be done with it or ??? thanks for the advise.

Yes, I have mine done before by Frame Straight System.  Ron's work is awesome!

i had one straightened .  Hadnt had a problem with it.

I had mine done by a place in indianpolis.

Everything should be fine as long as the wheel isnt cracked.  It can be pretty mashed up.

+1... but figuring $30 for shipping (modest amount) round trip and then $125-150 for the work, you might do better on ebay.  I've got a couple 600rr rims that I can't use, don't want to fix and can't bear to throw away. LOL...

Amen Brotha!  I have one that I can't throw away but I can't justify fixing it either.  The last one that I had fixed (can't remember where) cost me $140 plus shipping...

Although, $65 at Will's sounds pretty good.

Ron at Frame Straight System is definitely top notch.  It does cost quite a bit to get a wheel fixed by him as he charges a flat rate for the service (read: regardless of how bent the wheel is).
