Title: 04 gsxr 600 chain
Post by: smoke on April 20, 2005, 06:45:33 PM
The stock chain is a 525.  Do I still go with the 520 kit for chain and sprokets or stay stock?  I got my LP book today  ;D

As long as you get a good chain, 520 will work fine. Personally I use DID 520ERV2 (I think the new version is the ERV3) for a season then toss it.

the 520 is lighter and reciprocating weight -- so changing it out is "cheap" horsepower. But, you don't need to do it for safety or anything else. If you get a 520, get a high end racing chain and it will last a season of sprint racing.
