 Homestead Speedway December 2013 250 Spec Class Racing Race Report
This weekend we were joined by Wild card rider Harrison Warren from Windsor, Berkshire and newly licensed racers Boelo Lussenberg, Carlos Lorenzo, and Angelo Jose made their CCS roadracing debut.
The weather conditions were dry and cool.
Kyle Andersen was not able to start due to a crash in practice, where he suffered a broken foot.
For both races, it was Miguel Chirino with the whole shot into turn one while being closely pursued by Walter Ferreyra and Harrison Warren. In race one Ferreyra quickly gained the lead and held his position followed by Chirino. Chirino fell 1/4 lap behind while dealing with traffic from the race ahead. Chirino was to go un challenged to finish in the second position. The race for third was between Harrison Warren, Sabrina La Paz, and Lucas Silva. It was La Paz who was to secure the third spot on the ULTB podium.
For race two, Chirino, Ferreyra, and Warren had great starts and were able to break away from the field early on.
The three exchanged positions several times at various parts of the track. Ferreyra managed to secure a small gap early in the race which was narrowing rapidly. Chirino and Warren picked up the pace and all three riders ran within 10th's of a second of the fastest lap. Edward Chirino crashed out of the race while chasing Carlos Lorenzo. Edward was un hurt.
This concludes Florida Spec Class racing for 2013. Congratulations to our top three finishers.
