Title: Tire Warmer Repair
Post by: ipscer on October 04, 2008, 02:21:18 PM
Hey Guys,

I was able to get my digital controller on my front PowerStands tire warmer wet and it smoked. I'm pretty sure all I need is the controller and I noticed that several manufacturers use the same controller that is marked SMI-200.

However, I can't seem to find where to buy one. I talked to Powerstands, but they are not supporting them any longer since they have a newer model.

Does anyone have an idea where I can buy the controller, get the warmer repaired, or just buy a similar front replacement.
Thanks

Greg

That is pretty much what you can expect with Powerstands.

FWIW, both Woodcraft and Chickenhawk will ALWAYS service their products. Period.

This is a lesson I learned the hard way- buying a set of cheap tire warmers with no after sales support.
Good luck.

Yea, i have to give you that one. They are much cheaper and actually pretty good warmers. However, after being told that they don't expect tire warmers to last longer than 18 months, thus, they don't have a way to get them repaired, I'm a little soured on their stuff.

In any case, if someone does know how to buy a controller, please let me know.

I'm pretty sure I brought a digital temp controler from http://www.love-controls.com/ (http://www.love-controls.com/) to repair one of my warmers one time.  I think it was like $50 or something.  Hope this helps
