Define later.

Both raced in this configuration, period.  This wasn't just practice.

Again, if something has changed, would someone post on this?

We seen the green bike with dual plates on the next day (should had been done before the races sat). The black one looked liek they put white tape on for sunday also (again should had been done sat).

THing is, the tech isnt consistant with teching bikes. The tech guy in question wouldnt let a freind of mine pass until he spaced his numbers out farther (they already were 1/4" apart and 3 digits) but let someone else through with numbers nearly touching. His were spaced just like mine, but he wouldnt pass his because he knew who the previous owner of my friends bike was and has some grudge against it. I've seen him just look at the paperwork and stick a CCS tech sticker on some peoples bikes without as much as looking at it.

The rule calls for three number plates, it has not changed.

If you'll tell me who the tech was I'll fix it so it doen't happen again, the one rear plate and the harassment.

The only race we allowed the single plate at was the AMA race we worked at Mid-Ohio in September. End of discussion.

Thank you for your support of CCS racing.

Thanks for the straight shooting on that, Kevin.  Will make designing paint next year easy then.

Oh, and if you can leave the number of Midwest events at the number we had in 2008 or one less, that would be cool.

Hoping for the economy to turn around so you can have a good year.

FWIW, I was the Starter for the combined event at Mid-Ohio and saw quite a few different number plate arrangements from the various race organizations.

The layout that was the easiest to read had the number on the side of the fairing, just below the tank.  The number plate was outlined and spaced to clearly define the area from any other logo's that might make it confusing.

My impression was that it would be very easy to read the number plate if the bike was tipped in thru a corner and you were on the outside of a corner.  Now if you were on the inside of a corner it would probably be a different story with a bike leaned way over.  In that case it should be easier to see a number on the tail section.  How about this....... 4 number plates - front, both sides below the tank and 1 across the tail????

And FYI....... Since I'm never one to stir up any poo-poo  :ass:  ........ I didn't work Tech at BFR last weekend!!!!

Kevin that happened to my friend back in 2000. I havent took a bike thru tech since 2004. When I get back racing I'm gonna try to have Rick tech mine. At least I can bribe him with a lemon pie.

If the black bike was a Buell, it was a MotoST bike.  Until recently (the last two races I think) you only had to have a 1" outline in the proper color instead of a full plate.  I know several teams that really liked the look and were going to it when it seems that tech changed their minds and a few of the bikes had to have a hasty re-number job done.

It's not a problem with a good set of contrasting colors it's a really nice effect.. But when the colors are similar (a dark blue totally obscures the numbers or a very light bike makes the background seem in certain conditions you can't tell what color the 'plate' is).

Ok, that's my two cents worth...
Ok, so I'm faster with my camera then you are with your bike..

Black Cowboy Hats - Keep the sun off my neck.
Nikon (because I use the best)
RnR Cycles - Great folks, great service
Team Pro-Motion - Just for the fun of it..
Photographing the Racing because I love the Sport and you folks ROCK!

I like the look too, but that won't allow me to get through CCS tech.

So if I have a yellow bike, that counts as a amateur plate background right?  I did put a nice black outline in there to so it is sorta number plate-y.  And my numbers are huge and black.

Yeah, that's been acceptable.

I believe that the single rear # plate is optional and acceptable only in CCS FL, but I might be mistaken about that.

Regarding yellow bikes, I've seen many standard yellow bikes with just numbers on them.  My bike is white and it just has numbers on it.  Just be careful that if you're going to paint the entire bike yellow, you use a (click the following link) proper yellow.  I don't think that, if the entire bike is some sort of different yellow that's very far from standard, it will meet the intent of the rulebook.
