Does anyone know whats going on with the June and July MW TBA dates they are not on the schedule any more?
Looks to me like they are still there, they still say TBA but still there.
I'll own up to being interested in even a tiny bit of the story on those - they are off the main calendar but on the MW specific one...even a "we expect to have definitive news by....." would help - trying to plan out the rounds and track days (girly friend rides those...) for the summer and that is making it a bit difficult
July should be RA.

Should is the key.. No asra listed either. I think it's game over. Hope I'm wrong, but it's not looking good :(
I heard no road america this year at all. Trying to get grattan that weekend.
Called CCS they said they were still working things out with RA hopefully it all works out
On the RA site they've got the Skip Barber school down for July 2-3, and the Skip Barber site is taking reservations for that weekend at RA.. The June date is the same as the AHRMA weekend at RA, maybe they're trying to combine it with them?
Would be nice to give us an updated tentative schedule so we can try and get vaction time planned at work.. waiting too long and I won't be there because I won't be able to get the time off. Thats just me though.
Well that's confirmed - both Skip Barber and RA have the July 2nd weekend listed as cars anf a MX series etc
groan.....

Disappointing for sure. :wah: Looks like the only CCS round I'll be making is at HPT this year.
Oooh. Grattan would be awesome. My fingers are crossed.

I decided to wait to renew mine. Looking like it was a worthy decision. A weekend license will be a great investment.
Not real happy about potentially losing RA (particularly since it's the only track I've won races!) however I would argue that it's not a great track for bikes. Much prefer tighter, more interesting tracks like VIR, Mid-O, Topeka and Barber.
I can appreciate the financial side. If Kevin cannot break even at the price they are quoting, he doesn't have much choice. If it's replaced by Gingerman or Grattan, I'll feel that we haven't lost too much...
I went to the Skip Barber web page and it said the racing school was July 4-7 so I called them and they confirmed it so maybe theres still some hope

Nothing really, other than the fact that it's 8 hrs away. Guess I'll have to make one sooner or later if I want to get schooled by all you midwest guys :thumb:

Not looking to step on toes or be cavalier with anyone's wallet, but a big part of the CCS initial operating budget each year comes from license renewal fees. If Kevin has more money now to negotiate track contracts, it will be far easier to do so. I think that as the main consumers of this organization's product, it behooves us greatly to lend our full financial support, as early and often as reasonably possible. Personally, I'd renew now even if I didn't think I'd race at all this year, because I want CCS to still be here when I did decide to race again. This was my situation last year; I only raced one weekend, but if that early license renewal helped the organization in any way it was money well spent.
Also, I'm sure that CCS uses the # of licensed racers in any given region as a factor in determining probable event attendance within that region. Why, if you only had X racers registered in the Midwest, and it took Y racers to make RA profitable, or even break-even, and X + A < Y (with the variable A being the unknown number of as-yet licensed and out-of region racers) is the most likely equation as predicated by the known number X, would you knowingly book a track when you knew up front that it would ultimately be far less stressful, and probably cheaper, to just shovel 100 dollar bills into a roaring bonfire?
CCS is a business. These are hard times for everyone, but if we want CCS to survive, we need to do our part. Renew your license, do whatever races you can afford, recruit a trackday rider, etc. But we can't expect CCS to last when we start pulling the plug on the season before it even starts.
From what I know negotiations for track time is done well before any licenses are issued.

Well, obviously not in the MW region as there are still 2 TBAs on the schedule. From what I know, CCS still did OK in the East and South last year. GP didn't make it this year and MW is struggling. Looking at CCS as an essentially regional business with some overlap from adjoining regions, it's simple to see the outcome. Those TBAs are there partly because of simple projections based on last year's MW numbers (Including the total # of licensed racers in the region). Less initial regional license revenue certainly won't help this season, and might have a decidedly negative impact on the projections for next year.
Jim, stop talking sense and using math to show your work. :err:
Love the pun Alexa - still depressing tho....BFR is fun and all but RA is a welcome change to break up the monotony - oh and it'll probably work out that way cause dang it I HAVE a sv superbike finally this year.....grumble grumble (grin)
As the webmistress for the CCS website, I have asked Kevin at least once a week about these 2 races. I was really hoping to make an announcement this past week .. but .. he said the tracks still haven't confirmed with him and he would let me know as soon as they do.
He attends at least one race weekend per track each year and tries to firm up dates for the following year while he's there and can talk face-to-face with track personnel. I know he has been working on this year's schedule since last year.
So - don't blame him - blame the track head honchos!
Thank you so much for the update!! Anything helps the pain....lol

If you are serious Kevin has an excellent refund policy just for off season internet assholes. This is how it works....a. CALL HIM b. Say " I am not racing with your organization this year, can I get a refund?" c. you get your money back HOPE THIS HELPS!
I'd be down for a Grattan round to replace July 2-3 weekend at RA!! The July weekend is typically a twin sprint event. Any hint whether or not that is still the plan at an alternate venue?

This is why we love you TommyG!!! LOL!!!
So... Is the schedule that is hidden at the back of the new rule book for real? No RA, but instead grattan and gingerman..
the CCS rulebook shows races at Grattan on July 2-3, but both Grattan's schedule and Sportbike Track Time's schedule have STT there on July 2-3.
Thee CCS schedule would therefor seem to still be a work in progress?
Ahh jeez...I'll crawl back in my hole.
How about a STT Track day on Saturday and CCS racing on Sunday????

I think I'd still be in. I took my vacation for RA.. Might as well use it for some racing still.. Although it'll cost a bit more in fuel, 4 tanks more!
Well I was just informed that the back up events fell through but that we should have answers really soon.

poopy
At this point I'm betting on a light MW racing year...
It's not all bad. We have the dates so when it comes to planning for vacation...If the MW season is light and I can afford more, I'll probably race a WERA round or two and the AMA road racing grand national @ MidO.
So..... Since the website, doesn't have the tentative dates, is the schedule complete?
http://www.ccsracing.us/schedules/2011/mwschedule.html
it's on the main page... the midwest is basically the blackhawk series now. yay.
This is bad news. I'm thinking that CCS MW may be on it's way out. There is no question that the MW has really suffered during this recession. I will be @ the BHF rounds ,may try to make Heartland and will be augmenting the season with the occasional WERA (Grattan 7/8-10) race, some hare scrambles, enduros and gps.
I will miss racing @ RA on the R6.
well, i guess Louden has their Road Racing Series... I guess Blackhawk Farms will just have to have theirs as well...
...... I can't believe there's only 5 races :wah:
Better then none....otherwise we'd be terrorizing tho poor track day orgs and they'd be getting bitched at....eesshhh!!
So Robbie...maybe I will do HTP then for MW pointage,if I'm lucky who know maybe get a third somewhere............

Lets go to HTP Johnny!
B nice if the autobahn would let ccs run once. would make for a reasonable drive for me and of course all the chicago/ wisconsin folk wouldn't have a bad drive either.

CCS ran there 3 times soon after the track opened a couple of years ago........ wasn't much fun for anyone. Track surface was already deteriorating pretty bad in it's 2nd year. Track layout meant that any bikes that needed to be picked up during practice or racing created an automatic 10-15 delay to get the Crash Truck on and off the track. Club members did their best to remind you that you weren't a member. About the only good part for a lot of people was that it wasn't much of a drive home.

Well that's a shame that us lower class citizens aren't welcome there. It did seem a little roungh when i went there i will admit. Guess i'll have to just try blackhawk......but it's so short, haha.
I was at Autobahn 2 summers ago and I think they are figuring out what side the bread is buttered on.
I think they are finding out that bikes are not bad and help offset the cost of overhead a lot.
Unfortunately they let cars on the track and it is getting worst than ever.
Darn those four wheel concoctions.
