Hi,

I will be racing my 2004 R1 this year.

I was hoping to complete in:

Unlimited SuperSport
Unlimited Superbike
Unlimited Grand Prix

I was wondering if adding Graves Velocity Stacks w/ PC3 are Illegal.

The 2004 R1 comes with velocity stacks from the factory it is just that the 2nd and 3rd stacks are taller than stock w/ the graves

Can someone please explain this to me and if this is legal or not.

Thanks

Mike

You may have to email Kevin Elliot.

The throttle bodies and the airbox cannot be modified. CCS may consider the velocity stacks to be part of the airbox or throttle bodies, if so, they cannot be changed.

How much do you gain from the velocity stacks? I doubt for the average club racer riding an R1, that the velocity stacks would be noticeable.

I was told more than once at tech (even listened in while a trainee was being trained) that a change in HEIGHT is allowed.  A change in diameter is NOT allowed.  So as long as the height is all that has changed, you should be ok.

Interesting,

Yes it is only a change in Height, not diamater. But I will get a hold of Kevin Elliot.

Can someone please tell me how to do this?

The main reason I ask is because I am going to get her mapped, and if they are illegal, then I don't want the map to include them.

Thanks Again.
