I race a single in Great Plains.  I used to carry a set of rollers.  They're about 3' long, you place the rear wheel of the race bike on one end and the rear wheel of another bike or car on the other.  You use the other bike or car to spin them up to fire up the race bike. 

I leave them at the shop now and just bump the bike off.  If we're somewhere with a slight slope it's easy, or you can always recruit someone to push.

If his Rickman is a CR750 it should be very easy to bump start.

Yeah, agreed.  I can bump a CR by myself no problem.

We used to use rollers as well - but when I got my new truck - It didn't work out wo well.... The electronically controlled locking rear end just caused the truck to jump fight off the rollers as soon as the tire started spinning.....
