I know this topic has been beaten to death but I've already heard conflicting reports of what laptimers will or will not work. Is CCS still using the Westhold laptimers or do we need to buy AMB transponders?

Westholds for CCS. Think they are using the AMB just for ASRA.

And if I heard correctly, only ASRA Team Challenge.  The sprints are still Westhold?  (Or maybe that was just this year)

Could be. Not sure myself. I don't do ASRA stuff so I cant say for sure.

For now I mailed back my Westhold Transponder to Westhold for them to replace the battery. It should be good for another 3 years I guess once I get it back.

At Daytona I was told we were all going to have to switch to hard wired transponders from west hold for 2016.

Not having to switch to hardwired, but the hard wired has less issues with interference. The signal strength is much higher and overcomes electronic interference from laptimers, ECUs etc as well as the blocking of signal by metal or carbon fiber.
