As Greg says it depends on your pace. I think the Dunlop Daytona compound front will last the whole race at anything other than extremely fast paces (1:55 and under) but you will need at least one rear tire change.

However remember Jason Disalvo? Almost won the race about 2 or 3 years ago on one front.....

We have done the Team Challenge on Dunlops, UK Medium+ compound slicks and the tire still looked pretty good after the race. Then again, the lap times were about 2:00 for my stint, considerably higher (2:05?) for my partner.

I'm thinking at least two fuel stops on your average 600. Team challenge we are usually running out of fuel with about 5 laps to go.....that's on the Duc. 848 with standard 15.5 liter tank.

YMMV, of course :)

I would also like to know this^^

Anyone know if we are allowed to use bigger gas tanks? Or is that against the rules? Did not see anything about it in the Daytona 200 rulebook.

This changed.....there was no restriction, now there is:

I.   Original capacity fuel tanks must be used. Tanks may be modified to accept a female dry brake valve(s) as long as capacity is not increased. Additional or secondary fuel tanks are strictly prohibited.

Would like to know about on Thursday there is CCS practice if it is included with the races or you have to pay extra like a trackday?

Thursday (Fri, Sat, Sun) practice is included with entry in any race of the weekend.
Practice only is not available, you must enter at least one race.

Perhaps I am clueless or have not been paying attention, but will this weekend have "normal" CCS races with classes such as Ultralight GT and Ultralight Thunderbike in addition to the "big show" of the 200?

If so, are there any constraints on running the other races other than being licensed with CCS and being 16 years of age or older?

Thanks,
Steve

I'll soon pick up the R6 from Matt and Uship it down to Homestead for the first race of the year.  On a middly modified R6...running race fuel.  1 stop or two for the big D?

Most likely you will have to stop 2 times for the race.Bikes should be pitting on laps 18-25 on first stop. Then in the 40's second stop.Race is 57 laps.

When we have done the team challenge on the MW bike, it was 2 stops. The bike can go 20 laps max on one tank. Duc 848. You must run stock capacity fuel tanks.

Of course you're supersport legal, right?........... :)

We're racing the short course right?  Only 2 nascar turns (3 & 4).  Makes it more technical less power and balls.
