We have a big enough grid to support HW and LW formula 40?  I didn't see anything wrong with the way it is run now.  BTW, it is a free country, but if you don't ride F40, why would you be voting?

There are racer's over 40 who ride an open class machine and would like to be able to ride in the Formula 40 class.  However, there would be too much disparity between bikes to have a really fair race.  So it was suggested that perhaps we could have a Lightweight and a Heavyweight Formula 40 class.

Another poster asked for a poll to see if people would be interested, so....  Here it is.

Kim, I think your TL qualifies for Formula 40 with the current rules. Avg. grid size at Midwest events are 8-10 bikes.

So it does!  ;D When I read thru the rulebook the first time, I didn't see the part about compliance with HW Supersport, just HW Sportsman.  Look out, 2006! ;)

Heavyweight and lightweight F40 would not make any sense with the limited number of entries in F40.
Midwest region usually has 7 to 10 amatures and about 8 expert riders. You know that CCs is not going to run a 5 or 6 rider race. Split f40 and CCS might run it in conjuction with another class. Is this what you want ?  How about having the few that are making all the noise just conform with the present rules.

The whole idea behind LW and HW is to add the liter bikes to the F40 Class and allow for more entries and to do this and still leave it as being fair.
    If we always conformed to the same rules and did not ask for change some racers would still have to worry about the draft and then there would be less entries. If we all felt the same and conformed and didn't ask for change there would only be one brand of car, one flavor of ice cream, one style hair cut, etc. If there was no change the 250cc rides would not be riding F40.

Are you the only one who is allowed an opinion? I realize the people who own 600s and 750s that are active F40 riders don't want Liter bikes in F40. But what about all the other riders who own liter bikes and are of AGE and want to ride in a class that was set up for AGE not size of bike?  You are like the guys who race in AMA-PRO and don't want any change like the change to allowing 4cylinder liter bikes in the Superbike class. The factories are pushing larger bikes and the  racing organizations are hearing more and more of it. It's time to get on board and realize it's coming and there is nothing you or I can do to stop it. How many 929s,954s,zx900s, gsxr 1000s are out there in the hands of people (of age) who want to race them, not in GTO or Unlimited SS, but against people our own AGE? I'll bet you wouldn't like it if CCS told you "You can only run in GTU with your 600."
    By the way I am not sure but I think there is a poll somewhere about liter bikes and F40 rules. 51 replies 900 reads, sound familiar? ;) And I already know the poll results. I also relize this forum is read and replied to by CCS racers who are already racing F40. And they are allowed their opinion ,too. ;)

as I said before if someone doesn't agree with you, you think that they have a problem. You belittle any opinion that does not agree with yours.
I am not in favor of open class bikes in F40 and I am not in favor of heavy and lightweight F-40, unless there were enough riders to justify two classes. thats just my opinion.

As I said before. I don't want to make anyone angry. Change is the hardest thing to get done. If I offended anyone Sskkeeewws me. I am just like any other racer trying to get something to happen that will probably not, but it is worth the try. Remember the "Squeeky wheel" Really I don't mean to offend. Her bike is eligable under the current rules. This poll has no bearing in her case. Thats what I meant.  ;)
