Does a 2002 GSXR600 need to have aftermarket case covers according to CCS regulations?

Yep.  All gixxers need the left and right covers.  Besides, you'd want them even if they weren't required!  :)

Actually 2000-2002 GSXRs need left side, right is not required if OEM style fairing 5.2.22.A
