Would you let Oprah beat a Superbike in a contest???

OK you sportbike lovers...need your help. I have entered my Superbike mosaic art quilt in a contest - it took off to an early lead, but has been surspassed by a quilt of Oprah's face! Help!!!      

 Here's why the Superbike entry should win:

1. The subject is interesting....hello, it's a SUPERBIKE!  Its a CCS Racer (although the photo is from an AMA event)!
2. The quilt measures appx 3ft x 5 ft in size so it was more difficult to quilt than the smaller entries
3. It is made with fused applique technique with over 6000 pieces of fabric
4. It is more colorful than the others ~ made using 24 different true colored fabrics, which is the most difficult color palette to work with than a monochrome scheme.
5. I'm a rookie quilter and this was my first quilted art project. Not bad, eh?
6. You can see the quilt and the racer/superbike subject LIVE at Daytona next week!!!

Woot!  You guys ROCK!   Thanks for the support! Hopefully Oprah herself won't get word of the contest until after voting is closed in April!

Ducmarc, tell your Mom about this mosaic technique - she might like it...The woman who is running the contest has won numerous awards in the art and quilting worlds. I met her at a gigantic Quilt show in Paducah KY and saw her work - it's fantastic.  I won't say it's easy to do, but it is different and cooler  than paper piecing granny squares depending on who you hang out with - hehe. 

I'm putting the finishing touches on my second mosaic quilt - subject of this one is Ben Spies at VIR with a knee down. It should be done before I leave for Daytona so both will be on display in the paddock.

Hopefully some day I will make one good enough to hang in Barber Museum...there's a big empty wall in the entrance foyer across from the gift shop that looks like it needs a great big one of these ;)
