Well, I was working turn 1, and the only CCS cornerworker that showed up to work, unfortunalty the other bikes were passing in front of you as you guys were crashing, so I also did not get the full perspective on how it occured. I'm glad your both ok. Meiring was wobbling around and medics insisted that he take the ride back with them, he kept saying no I'm ok (that was the tough guy syndrome), while the medic was keeping him from falling back down while holding on to his arm.
As far as the storm goes, well here I am thinking, yep, there's lightning, and were wearing electrical equipment.

I started taking some pics of the storm, as soon as the storm started coming through, one strong swift breeze lifted the EZups and exploding clouds of black and slight green came quick. Here's a couple of pics for ya. The first one is the start of the race Paul was talking about. After the rain was done, which lasted about a half hour or so, it cooled down for the rest of the races and it was a beautiful day. Great work by all the racers for sticking it out and showing up. I had a great time. It's not just a job, it's an adventure.
